Currency is a $5 paper bill. THE EASTERN BANK no 2356. Bangor, Maine and signed Mills, cashier; Roberts, president. It is printed black & green on white with MAINE in green on reverse. Reverse has handwritten on it:"money broker" "Charles Hallock""St. John , NB/1864" Counterfiet" face has picture of eagle, a woman sitting on harbor shore & a steam ship with a horse at bottom. Written on back of bill by donor's uncle. Mr F.W.Adams of Merchant Bank thought the bill to be genuine, according to accession book |
