Description |
Wooden, carved walking stick with handle at 90 degree angle from shaft at top. The handle has a carved alligator raised on it. Alligator reclines with tail following the lines of the walking stick and back part of tail hangs down the top section of the shaft. Said to have been presented to Melville Andrews, Maine musician, by the citizens of Charleston, South Carolina, while he was stationed there during the Civil War. |
